What’s better than a gorgeous kid’s first birthday party? A kid’s birthday party that is so fab that all the grown-ups totally enjoy it, too! Molly at Almost Makes Perfect went all out for her son, Arlo’s, birthday party. When you have a friend walk in and say it looks like a small wedding is happening as Molly did, it’s safe to say you’ve covered all your perfect party bases!
Molly settled on a sky theme for Arlo’s first birthday party because he has had a thing with clouds for like, ever. Or at least for his first year of life ;) With cute clouds on the custom cups and an icy white and pastel color scheme with lots of white and silver, the scene was absolutely on point.
A delicious spread of simple foods was offered as well as a monochromatic baby play area, complete with a cloud-like monochromatic ball bit was a hit for the babies. With adorable custom designed party accessories, plenty of food, gorgeous weather and lots for the babies to do, it really couldn’t have been better.
Molly baked the cake and the smash cake with classic, crowd-pleasing funfetti cake and a cream cheese icing. Edible silver leafing added a lovely touch to the cake! We loved the “Advice for Arlo” keepsakes Molly designed using a personalized menu. In the years to come, they’ll all be able to read back over the sweet sentiment expressed on Arlo’s first birthday.
Even though it was just Arlo’s first birthday, Molly has a good perspective when she says she’s going to go all out while she can, because how many years will she really be able to!? Time is fleeting, and before she knows it Arlo will have his own big ideas about his birthday parties, especially after seeing his mom go all out! We love how Molly embraced the sky theme and covered all the details, big and small, to create an unforgettable celebration!
