Red, White & Blue Sangria
Serves 8-10
Ingredients
1 bottle dry white wine
1 bottle champagne (or any variety of sparkling white wine)
1 cup apple juice or white grape juice
2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 pound fresh strawberries, sliced
3-4 Granny Smith apples
Ice
Directions
In a large pitcher, stir together white wine, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and juice. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour to allow the flavors to meld. Just keep in mind that the longer the mixture sits, the redder it will become!
When you are close to serving time, slice your apples and then use the star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out apple stars. You could also use pineapples or pears if you would prefer those fruits in your sangria. Next, stir in your apple stars, champagne and ice. Finished!
