Looking for some major wedding inspiration? Picture this: a dreamy, hilltop vineyard wedding in Malibu with a delicious reception dinner under a clear blue sky, followed by open air dancing and donuts with milk. *So* perfect, right?! Well, for Jessica Lo of Jess Throw it On, this dream day was her wedding day reality!
In a blog post leading up to the wedding, Jess was very clear that she believes that the bride and groom should design their wedding day as they wish, and not worry too much about adhering to all the traditions. From her wedding day photos, it certainly looks like she and her now husband, Tyler, did exactly that—and the results are fabulous.
Some favorite wedding details from their day are the open air dance floor and the adorable ring bearer’s signs that said, “last chance to run!” on his chest, and “JUST KIDDING! They lived happily ever after” on his back. Of course the array of desserts, including donuts with cold milk to wash it down with, are a total fave, especially paired with custom marbled cocktail napkins. Jess wrote about skipping the traditional big wedding cake in favor of a variety of desserts in one of her blog’s leading up to the big day, and she totally delivered a delectable spread.
Jess was also *very* proactive to protect their wedding day so that she could be fully present and not distracted by managing final details. Read more about that here. She was able to maintain a great stress-free attitude, even as inevitable snags came up (*two different limousines breaking down?! What?!). She logged out of social media, but had a couple of her bridesmaids log into her accounts, which is a great compromise for brides who want to have social media presence on their wedding day, but not have to attend to it themselves.
Jess and Tyler’s wedding day looks like it was a total blast with the guests, the wedding party, and most importantly, the bride and groom having *such* a good time, and that’s the kind of wedding inspiration we can get behind! Be sure to check out her site for more wedding day inspiration.
