It’s that time again… the endless Holiday season décor has given way to lots of hearts, chocolate and extra aisles of stuffed animals at your local big box retailer: Valentine’s Day! Of course, Valentine’s Day is not just for lovers. It’s for everybody, amiright?! In recent years, a new celebration that we totally love has gained momentum as an addition to the Valentine’s season, and that is Galentine’s Day: A date-flexible celebration for you and your dearest gal pals!
Last year, Lexi from Lex and the City threw an absolutely gorgeous Galentine’s party for her nearest and dearest. From the location to the décor to the gift bags, the details were impeccable and this year we are taking major inspiration for our own Galentine’s parties!
The great thing about a Galentine’s party is that it can be totally unique to your taste, your priorities and the atmosphere that you are going for. There are no rules, other than it’s generally a celebration of friendship. Lexi curated a party that was perfect for her last year and we’re super interested in her party this year to do some fun comparisons. (stay tuned, we hear it’s going to be fab.) And with a little (seriously, not too much!) planning, you can totally curate a great Galentine’s Day party, too!
Lexi kept it simple but luxurious with great food, lovely décor and fab favor bags. By choosing a local restaurant that she already knew had the atmosphere and great food, Homestead on the Roof, she was able to cover those major party details without having to curate it completely on her own. With some cute custom balloons, cupcakes from West Town Bakery, beautiful flowers from Flowers for Dreams, custom cocktail napkins and personalized coasters, her tablescape was perfect! The mimosa bar featuring OneHope wine looked especially lovely, too!
When your goal is to appreciate your best gal friends, an extravagant party favor bag is a great way to show them some love! Who doesn’t want to leave a fantastic party with a bag full of treats and little luxuries?? Curate a selection of some of your favorite items like hand cream, candles and something sweet to eat. Of course, a mini bottle of champagne is always a great addition to party favor bags!! Opt for local artisans when you can to keep the love local!
Even if you’re planning a more budget-friendly soirée, you can totally take inspiration from Lexi’s event. Delicious food doesn’t have to be complicated and expensive, and party favor bags don’t have to be budget-busting to show major appreciation for your girlfriends. Most of all, spend your party planning energy on making the event personal and intimate! You’ll love the results, and your galentine’s will, too!
