It’s that time of year again, ladies, and we’re totally not talking about Valentines Day! It’s Galentines Day! As decreed by Leslie Knope herself, on Parks and Recreation, February 13th is our annual opportunity to celebrate the women in our lives that offer our deepest friendships.
Taking a moment to honor your tribe with a brunch or drinks on the day before Valentine’s Day is a fabulous way to celebrate how much love you have in your lives, whether or not you’re celebrating Valentines with someone special this year. (Of course, if you have a guy friend who is totally one of your ride-or-dies, include him! This isn’t strictly about women as much as it is about deep, platonic relationships.)
This year, roll up your sleeves for a fun DIY fringe backdrop as an easy party décor upgrade for a Galentines brunch at your place, or get some balloons and portable table décor to take to a happy hour meet-up after work.
For simple Galentine’s Day party favors, make gift bags with a single serving champagne bottle, a new nail polish and, of course, some delicious treats!
Wherever works best for you all, gather your besties and raise your glasses together to your nearest and dearests, to your VIPs on the other side of your late night texts, to the ones who share allllll your inside jokes, and celebrate Galentines Day this year!
